Josh Blake - He was born and raised in the suburbs of San Francisco, CA. At the age of 18 Josh went to college outside of Boston, but before long he became anxious for new territory. He hit the road and traveled the world with little more than a hitchhiker's thumb and an acoustic guitar. It was during that time that Josh Blake first encountered the Granola Funk Express rainbow family kitchen, and met members of present day GFE. On route to Jamaica in January 1997, he stopped in Asheville, NC to visit some of these friends. Soon thereafter he moved to Asheville to help establish the musical force known as GFE. He currently performs with GFE, Josh Blake's Big Money Band, Super Collider, and every Tuesday at Asheville's Tuesday night Funk Jam.

A multidimensional artist, Josh's musical understanding is based on his 18 years as guitarist and songwriter. He is a prolific producer and studio engineer. At age 35 he has written and helped produce over 250 recordings. His influences include hip-hop, funk, jazz, rock, bluegrass, reggae, and psychedelia. With a traveler's understanding of the world, Josh Blake uses his talents to make music that and challenges social injustice, spreads earth consciousness, and creates unity. His inspiration is limitless, and his devotion to his music eternal.
